PrayServe

Privacy Policy

Effective July 6, 2026

Who we are

PrayServe (“we”) is a mobile app that helps young Catholics log prayer and service, discover parish events, and grow in faith. Questions about this policy or your data: support@stack26.dev.

What we collect

  • Account: your name, email address, and password (held by Google Firebase Authentication — we never see your password).
  • Parish or school affiliation you choose during onboarding or via an invite code.
  • Prayer activity: the prayers you log (type, minutes, timestamps).
  • Journal reflections you write.
  • Service logs: what you did, hours, your reflection, verification status, and — if you choose to add one — a photo of your service. Photos are optional.
  • Saved events and accepted challenges.
  • Notification token and reminder preferences, if you enable notifications.

Location: only when you use “check in” at an event, your device’s location is used at that moment to confirm you are at the venue. Your coordinates are not stored in your profile and we do not track your location in the background.

What we don’t do

  • No advertising, and no selling or renting of your data — ever.
  • No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • No background location tracking.

How your information is used

To run the app: showing your progress and streaks, letting parish or ministry leaders verify the service hours you submit, sending notifications you enable (new events in your parish, hours verified, daily prayer reminders), and keeping your account working across devices.

Who can see your information

  • Your parish or ministry leaders can see your name, your submitted service logs — including any photo you attach — to verify your hours, and that you are a member of their parish roster. Your journal reflections written as prayer entries are not shared with leaders.
  • Service providers: we use Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, and notifications) to operate the app; data is processed in United States data centers under Google’s safeguards.
  • Daily Mass-reading citations are fetched from a public liturgical API — no personal data is sent with those requests.

Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your account and all of your prayer, service, journal, and preference data. You can also request deletion by emailing support@stack26.dev from your account email. We keep your data only while your account is active.

Young people

PrayServe is intended for users 13 and older. If you are a parent or guardian with questions about your teen’s data — or want it corrected or deleted — contact us at the email above and we will help.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, and protected by per-user security rules so members can only access their own records.

Changes

If our practices change, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
